Rádio Itatiaia in Brazil
Network Routing Control with AES67
Integrated Control With a Touch
Rádio Itatiaia, Lawo, and Brazilian integration partner Carlos Ávila Pereira of Rádio Partes designed an AES67-centered solution to update and replace the existing network head-end routing system. This new system at network HQ in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, seamlessly integrates audio from equipment produced by many different manufacturers.
Itatiaia sends programming to more than 50 network affiliates across the state of Minas Gerais. It urgently needed interoperability between analog, digital and networked audio equipment.
Itatiaia’s new system employs a combination of Lawo software and hardware solutions. Its redundant routing core utilizes Lawo Power Core and Nova17 routing hardware, which may be controlled by either physical KSC key panels or touchscreen PCs with VisTool graphical control software.
There were no Examples to follow that truly fit our Needs. This made the Project challenging.

A major factor propelling Rádio Itatiaia toward upgrade was the need to incorporate cutting-edge technologies such as AES67 to support the increased number of audio signals needed for new services such as Web streaming, smartphone apps, and satellite audio uplinks (Itatiaia is carried on SKY, Claro TV and NET TV).
